@connorlee57 Why would any thinking person over 25 relate to a kid that went straight from Berklee & into his mom's Sony office to sign a record deal aged 21? U tell me? What life experience has he to call on? What does he base these whimsical lyrics on? It's all fake coffee house musings. What's his next record going to be about? His misinterpreted use of the N word or his break up with Jennifer Anniston? He's no idea about pain or hunger, none. That's also why his blues sounds diluted.

@greyseagirl But I don't see any link between his coffee house art pop and blues rock covers. Where is the original blues rock material? It's not there, it's just an excuse to show off chops he got from Berklee and his guitar teachers. For that reason I say it's manufactured. The old guard love anybody that sells this many records and plays a little blues. Why? Gets them attention. That's the only good thing I see in Mayer amongst all the tedious MOR that's sold buckets to girls and fools.
